Black Women in Food started as an initiative of Dine Diaspora, founded by Maame Boakye and Nina Oduro. In their work to connect people and brands to African diaspora food culture, they recognized the need for intentional efforts to address the lack of opportunities for Black women to advance in their food-focused careers. They created programs to support Black women across the global food system, on a quest to ensure that the future of food is diverse and equitable.

Mission: Black Women in Food identifies, amplifies, and supports Black women in the food and beverage industry to advance their work and contribute to a more equitable and sustainable food system.
